The Round Room
Gabinetto Rotondo
The Round Room, the second room designed by Pellegrini, was first decorated ten years later by Domenico Ruschi with white and gold stucco work on the walls, and by Giuliano Traballesi with the fresco in the center of the ceiling, representing The Three Graces, a favorite neoclassical theme. The original, simple, Lorraine-period furnishings, which consisted of a series of six divans, made by Lorenzo Dolci (1775) and placed along the walls, were supplemented with numerous Italian and French armchairs, chairs and small tables, used by Margherita of Savoy and her ladies for their conversation, reading, and inevitable "lady's tasks".
