The Japanese Porcelain Room
The Japanese porcelain collection includes Chinese and Japanese Imari styles, names for the Japanese port where pieces destined for exportation to the west were shipped. They are recognizable by the red, gold, and blue decorations also found on the large ornamental vases. In the room's center, a group of lacquer articles exemplifies the typical oriental work in vogue in Europe during the 18th century.
