The Oval Room
Gabinetto Ovale
The last two rooms in the Queen's Apartment were added for grand duchess Maria Luisa, wife of Pietro Leopoldo of Lorraine. The room, created by Ignazio Pellegrini, is covered with beautiful wall coverings and curtains of embroidered silk with a white background and a Chinese design, made in Florence between 1780 and 1783. The room's refined appearance is accentuated by the ceiling's colored stucco work by F. Visetti and by the rococo fireplace in Spanish brocatelle.
