The Tapestry Apartments
Appartamenti degli Arazzi
formerly Quarterie dei Cardinali e Principi Forestieri
The rooms in these apartments have been set up so as to look the way the Savoys had arranged them during the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. A number of pieces that are evidence of the Savoys' particular and very eclectic taste have been added, such as the veneered table inlaid with tortoiseshell and mother of pearl and decorated with chinoiseries, or the Mexican vases, now among the Medici treasures, that were once in the Hope room. On the other hand, the tapestries hung by the Medici on the walls of each room, and left there by the Lorenese, have been kept as they were.
